Thanks for the clarification Lüko. 

This reminds me of how we Canadians respond to Michael
Moore's favourable (and uncritical) comments about
Canada. He only mentions the things that a person from
far away thinks are nice. But we see ourselves with
warts and all. Governments at all levels are
privatizing everything. But we do have ongoing
campaigns to try and save our public health system to
keep it public (and even increase funding). We're
trying to pressure them on Kyoto; to get out of
AFghanistan etc...


Speaking as someone not living in Germany, I think the
fact that you have an anti-neoliberal party in
parliament that is in favour of withdrawing all troops
from Afghanistan is miles ahead of where we are in
Canada. We have a neo-conservative, neoliberal
minority government - where the opposition is afraid
to behave like an opposition. All parties, including
the social democrats (I'm sad to report) are in favour
of neoliberal policies.
