Very interesting.  But I feel that Obama's climbing down from the level of
high platitude and windy rhetoric and actually beginning to address issues
is a sign that it is over for him.  I think that this is even more likely
given this paragrah.

"Black anger" and "white resentments," he said, have "distracted attention
from the real culprits of the middle-class squeeze: a corporate culture
rife with inside dealing, questionable accounting practices and short-term
greed."

When a main stream politician starts taking aim at "corporate culture" you
can be sure he is very desperate.
