[Marxism] news from OAS meeting

Today is shaping up to be an important day in world politics. The
start of the meeting of the foreign ministers of OAS continues to
remain behind closed doors as strong debates are emerging over what
stance to take regarding Colombias actions in Ecuador.
Telesur is reporting that 8 countries (including Bolivia, Venezuela,
Argentina and Brazil) plus CARICOM are supporting a resolution that
openly condemns Colombia and have essentially stated their position of
complete support for what Ecuador wants.
only three countries have stated their opposition to adding the word
condemn, US, Mexico and Colombia.
OAS resolutions general are based on consensus im not sure if they
have every gone to a vote. But Ecuador's foreign minister has
repeatedly stated in interviews with press being broadcast in
Venezuela that they are willing to take this issue to a vote will all
the implicits this brings with it.
Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa earlier stated bluntly that if the
OAS meeting did not condemn the aggression, that it should be thrown
"in the dustbin of history".
