Re: [Marxism] Suddenly, a dangerous turn

Snip: Replacing Obama's message of reform and reconciliation is a Clinton
message of resentment and victimization, as voiced by former Rep. Geraldine
Ferraro who claimed that Clinton confronts "sexist media" bias as a woman
while Obama gets an easy ride because he's black.

Me: I think this decrying of the attacks on Obama as somehow destroying the
hopes for progress is way off the mark. I know I write from thousands of
miles away in Brisbane, but I think that somehow this rhetoric or critical
approach is linked to a residual feeling that in some way the Democrats are
better than Republicans. How can anyone have that position given the
history of war-making Democratic presidents?

Counterpunch too had a similar article that was posted here saying that the
Clintons' attack on Obama were guaranteeing the election of McCain etc.

I still believe that the crucial variable determining the outcome of the
election will not be the Clinton smears, but whether the ruling class decide
to tak a decisve stance. They have blunted what Robert Pary has laughingly
described as Obama's "dovishness" (Has Pary actually read Obama's remarks on
Israel???). Obama's economic advisers are on the right. As president Obama
will do as he is told by the ruling class.

How can anyone doubt that? Or how can anyone care whether he wins or not?

How then to deal with a "President" McCain?? Well of course he has to be
fought and the decisive battle field will be outside the electoral farce.

regards

Gary
