Would you dare to think of some kind of institutional coup in the
USofAm that establishes some kind of militaristic Bonapartism in the
White House at Wash?

Because I can't guess another way out of the situation you show above.

Is it ME who is catastrophistic now?

Fact is, if I were an USofAm bourgeois, and had I to face such a
crisis with every indicator flashing red alarm lights as they are
today, I would consider such a way out. See Kissinger asking for some
kind of arrangement with Iran. IMHO the think tanks are trying to
whitewash the establishment because though your own scenario is not
probable in the short run something on that line might appear in the
future.

They are really startled at what is taking place...
