Should the opinion of Iraqis count? Surely, they should have the most say on
this.

If you go to the BBC website, you can actually see the results of the BBC
survey.

Go to: <http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6983027.stm> and scroll down
to the question:

"How long do you think US and other Coalition forces should remain in Iraq?"

Notice that:

About 47% of Iraqis say "Leave now".

But...

About 35% of Iraqis say "Remain until security is restored."

About 10% of Iraqis say "Remain until the Iraqi government is stronger".

About 7% of Iraqis say "Remain until the Iraqi security forces can operate
independently".

So, according to the results of this BBC survey, a clear plurality of Iraqis
do *not* in fact want the US to leave immediately.

The Marxist position ought to be "Let the Iraqis decide".

Look at the survey results yourself. Again, the URL is: <http://news.bbc
.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6983027.stm>.
