Re: [Marxism] Washington's role in the current conflictbetweenColombia, Venezuela and Ecuador
First, anyone who "looks forward" to war is out of their mind. No
one benefits from an Andean war. And, no one would win.
Colombian troops and planes are no longer in Ecuador so
there should be no more threats by one side or other. It should
now be in the realm of reaching out to support Colombia's
working classes and the politics of condemning Colombia's
insane attack. If the US actually gets dragged in because
Venezuela ups the ante by taking on Colombia in, say, an
air war, all those nice new shiny Sukhois with their inexperienced
pilots would be so much chaff over the Andean mountains.
This is completely a bad thing and progressives and anti-
imperialists should do what they can to isolate Colombia's
gov't to prevent such incursions from happening again.
