[Marxism] Obama
Philip Ferguson
I'm 8-10,000 miles away, so am not up on all this like Joaquin and
others.
However, I've been following a range of TV and press news reports and
analyses and thinking about it a bit.

CB: Good to have Philip's point of view from a distance.
I think another big factor in this election is that the campaign has
been a whole year longer than usual. If the campaign had started as
usual at the end of 2007 and instead of the end of 2006, the nominees
would be Guiliani and Clinton no contest. The longer campaign has
drawn more people in and more working class influence. More has come out
about candidates than would normally and it has sunk deeper among the
People than usual.
