[Marxism] Why does Obama seem to be rolling toward the White House?

It seems to me that sometime after Super Tuesday, a substantial sector
of
the ruling class swung to the idea of giving Obama the Democratic
nomination
and electing him president? The campaign of Hilary Clinton, who seemed
to
have the mandate of heaven for quite a while, suddenly became like a
doomed
Lost Patrol.

Super Tuesday could have been used by the mainstream to rev up the
Clinton
campaign and protect the basic status quo of bourgeois politics. After
all,
she won New York and California. How these things get interpreted
allows
room for the media barons to choose emphases. It did not have to be
interpreted as a draw. Instead, they used it to set up the Clinton
collapse.

Now we see signs of disintegration in the McCain campaign even though
the
Republicans really have no alternative to him at this point. McCain's
idea
of being inspirational was to promise that US troops would be occupying
Iraq
for the next 100 years.

Of course, there is real motion among youth, working people, and the
middle
classes going on. But to put it mildly, the electoral arena in this
country
is not one where the masses act with real freedom of choice.

So let me suggest something: In the eyes of top ruling class figures,
the
Fed, investment bankers, top financial groups, etc. THE ECONOMY HAS
ALREADY
EXPERIENCED THE FIRST CRASH, and they expect more, not a recovery, in
the
immediate figure.

CB: Yes, Fred, you are seeing some instability in the US ruling class,
as I do.   The Bush regime as messed things up. We say that a lot, but I
think it may be that that admin has messed things up from the standpoint
of increasing sectors of the ruling class, not just left political
activists. 

One clue supporting your thesis is that all of sudden Obama is getting
lots of money and Clinton is "broke".
