Re: [Marxism] Obama and the Latino vote. A question
Richardson hasn['t endorsed anyone yet, but I don't
think he has any delegates to wheel and deal with.
Maybe he'd like to be Secretary of States.
The Democrats in California are split with some of
the Latino Democrats going for Obama (generally,
the more leftward ones, like Loretta Sanchez,
Maria Elena Durazo (head of the LA County AFL-CIO)
and others), and my member of Congress, Xavier
Becerra. On the other hand, I heard Dolores Huerta
debating in favor of Clinton on Democracy Now on
yesterday's program.
Not sure where the Catholic Church is on this one.
Since they're very strongly in favor of immigrants,
and, at least outside of Miami, they're in favor of
travel rights to Cuba because they're in favor of
family unity, I'd guess they'd be a bit more likely
to favor Obama. On the other hand, what's Hillary
and Obama stand on abortion rights? I would think
both would be favorable.
The Democrats in the California state legislature
are in bed with the Governator. He's backing a
measure to expand term limits. That would help
them to stay in office longer.
Arnold endorsed McCain a day or two ago.
