Not the best article, but, yes, Ledger was at the March 2003 protest in 
Melbourne.

He was also interviewed around the same time, and called John Howard a "dick". 
He comes across as a bit naiive, but genuine. The relevant part of the

thank god for socialist newspapers. by following this guy's death in the 
regular US channels you would never have known he took a public stand 
against the Iraq war.
