1/26 Hartford, CT: ICE Raided SEIU 1199 Union Office!

On the evening of Jan 26th, ICE raided SIEU 1199 headquarters in  
Hartford Ct, a city that has been successfully challenging the  
federal government's crackdown on immigrants. 5 ICE agents came to  
the headquarters, 2 guarded the door while the other 3 entered the  
building, arrested union worker Miriem Kamtengeni, and stole files on  
other members of the union.

SEIU/1199 in Hartford is asking for financial support for MIRIEM  
KAMTENGENI from Malawi, a member and employee of the union who was  
detained by U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement yesterday,  
1/24/08, at the Hartford offices of 1199. Checks may be made out to  
her husband, EVANCE KAMTENGENI and can be dropped off at the office c/
