Re: [Marxism] Cockburn contrarianism

something. When the percentage of pro-nuke list members ratio is only
.0018, maybe there's no point in responding. When Rolf Martens was
around, the percentage was up to .0027 but that's still kind of
marginal. Maybe you can recruit some people offlist to your viewpoint."
Figures don't lie but.... yeeaahhhh...I don't remeber "1100 Marxists
worldwide" saying spit about it Louis. Of course I can see how you would
project your own views onto that of the whole list....at any rate, this is my
whole point, we just don't talk about it. Of the THREE of us who spoke for
it (Haines B. being the other pro-nuclear person if my memory serves me
right) out of the about 12 people who maybe commented
(I'm being generous here) altogether that would represent...let me see...
about 20% of your "1100 Marxists worldwide". Discussion was only ended
because you ended it. It arose again during the discussion of the US/India
1-2-3 Agreement.
Joaquin was motivated to write a very fascinating essay on the broader
issue of energy usage that I thought took a lot of effort and while I completely
disagreed with it I'm glad the discussion took place, because without it, even
cut off as it was, he would likely not of written his contribution without.
You are correct...we don't talk about wind turbines and other technology issues.
Doing so went out of fashion among Marxists in the 1940s, before that, however,
such issues were discussed and debated even though, correctly, the specifics
of technology advances were not a high priority. They were higher then than
today, however, for sure.
