Re: [Marxism] Obama-mania has arrived

Eli,

I don't disagree with your evaluation of Dick Morris, although
as you may recall, the guy did work for the Clintons at one time
(what does that say about the Clintons?). And no, I am normally
not in the habit of Limbaugh or Hannity, or even Morris for
that matter. Nevertheless, I think that in this instance the
dirtbag is on to something. In the South Carolina primary,
Obama did lose the white vote, especially the white male
vote (on the other hand he did win the under age 30 white
vote). I think that he perceives correctly, that Clinton's
main hope for holding off Obama-mania is to subtly or perhaps
not so subtly, polarize things along racial lines. That
sort of thing is not new for the Clintons. Bill Clinton
did that sort of thing in 1992 with his "Sister Souljah"
moment,(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sister_Souljah_moment).
And we also shouldn't forget that in the 1992 campaign,
Clinton made a big deal over approving the execution of
Ricky Ray Rector in Arkansas for having shot and killed
a police officer.
Rector was an African-American.

Both moves were calculated to distance Clinton from
the African-American community and so improve his
standing among white voters. Clinton knew that at
the end of the day that African-American voters would
still come to the polls and support him, so there was
little downside for him.

So yes, Morris is a despicable dirtbag and while
I would hate to quote him, event to verify that
the sky was blue, I think he is probably right in
this instance.

To say I have no love for the Clintons would be
putting it mildly, but to quote the execrable
and completely repugnant Dick Morris as a
source of anything as if he were some kind
of unbiased analyst is absurd. You might
as well quote Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity.
