Obama lost among white voters in general, he lost white women,
white men, and all white age groups except under 30.

And that means the machine will stick with Hilary, even if the Kennedy
family, which has become the late-US-imperialist version of the Gracchi,
joins the revolt as seems to be happening. (We should keep in the back of
our minds that John Kennedy was the first and -- so far 45 years after his
assassination -- still the only Catholic president. Yes, I am a bit of a
conspiracist on matters that concern the "misfortunes" of the Kennedy
family.) And Obama will come under growing pressure to go along with the
program.

Politically though not necessarily electorally, the breakthrough with the
under 30 whites should not be underestimated.  There is a tendency on the
left, I believe, to see the US white population as unfailingly becoming more
and more racist every day in every way, no matter what happens.  Frankly,
racism in this country has taken a lot of hard hits in the national
struggle, and, contrary to the conventional wisdom, this has not had a
solely negative impact on the thinking of layers of white people, including
in the working class.
