Re: [Marxism] Brazil's Lula meets Fidel Castro, offers credit

I was about to mention that more than one third of PETROBAS is owned by
investors from US.

Lula seems a gifted belly dancer swaying to right or left according to the
rhythm of capital in general. Therefore, it is not surprising that Lula
submits his commitment to "democracy" during his visit to US, and
eventually hugs Mr. Bush; Lula represents his admiration to Cuban
revolution in Cuba, Lula in pursuit of neo-liberal policies in home, etc.
I don't think Fidel and Raul are taking him too seriously more than a
client's respect to a trade negotiator.

It is hard to decide whether one billion dollar credit is really an aid or
a semi-bribe for ensuring the presence of PETROBAS in Cuban waters without
detailed information of the deal, i.e. its interest rate, scheme of
payment, other nine clauses of the agreement, etc.

I think there is nothing to get so excited about Lula's recent visit to
Cuba in the sense of the solidarity of Latin America.
