[Marxism] marx on machines

i am trying to track down an unreferences marx quote, which perhaps may not be 
the standard translation; the quote being:

Machinery was the most powerful weaponfor beating back the periodic workers’ 
revolts, strikes, etc. against the dictatorshipof capitalism.One could write a 
majorwork about the inventions since 1880 that were created simply as weapon 
forcapital to wield against workers’ uprisings.


i have looked in the MIA and have not found it, so i am guessing it was 
translated differently... does it ring any bells to anyone?
