Re: [Marxism] Russia to complete Iran's nuke

Nestor, I'm not sure you are correct. Putin's agreement with Iran has
always been based on solving financing problems: the Iranian's tend to
be a bad credit risk. But, with this being cleared up, Russia is very
intent on being one of the top exporters of nuclear power around the
world. They just cut a deal with Egypt, in fact, to begin exploring
developing Egypt's recent announcement to go completely nuclear by 2030.
I suspect, at least in the case of Iran, that Russia wants this to be a
success since they have so much invested in overseas reactor sales and
want to break into the burgeoning Persian Gulf nuclear renaissance.
Russia has sold reactors now on line or going on line to Bulgaria, China
and India. They see the French under the guise of it's main nuclear
company, Areva, going all out to market their product line.

The problem is this:

<http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iJZ9jtm0mjZovx5YirnDlYlkJKdQD8TI05L00>

An AP article on Israel's increasing vocal rejection of the US intel on
Iran's nuclear weapon's program. The US has effectively tied it's own
hands, at least publicly, in it's proposed military strikes against
Iranian nuclear sites. The Israelis will feel compelled to *do
something*...but without US support? Well, they've done it before, they
can do it again, albeit the risks are so much greater (distance, Iranian
preparedness, effect on oil prices, etc). And...now there is an actual
deadline...fueling of the reactor in Bushehr.

So...the US has effectively neutralized itself diplomatically over
Bushehr, leaving only Israel in opposition. It should be pointed out
that just about every Arab country, from Saudi Arabia to Egypt has
defended and supported Iran *against* the US and Israel over nuclear
energy in Iran. The various reactionary regimes around the Arab League
understand that tying Iran even closer than it already is to the Arab
world increases stability of everyone concerned, not mention it's good
for business between Iran and Arab world, something most American
politicians seem woefully ignorant of.

BTW...Israel political pundit and politicians clamor against Egypt's
plans that I noted above is also increasing. They have little argument
against nuclear power in Egypt so they talk about a possible "nuclear
holocaust" and "arms race" and other abstract nonsense. The Zionists
don't know what to do.

David
