Hey Mehmet,
Thanks for the feedback! I did see the recent post about the SWP it's a shame.
I am confused about the way theses Marxist-Leninist learn and teach Marxism.
When i was a member of the CPUSA, vital parts of every general meeting was
reserved by the branch leader for the sole purpose of chanting line and verse
of Leninism. It forces me to question how they themselves learned or engaged
with Marxism. I think that a lot of people miss the most important part:
learning Marx's method. It seems like a lot of people read Das Capital download
an on-line study guide and then blissfully proclaim "I am a Marxist" (Oh wait
not Das Capital, that's way too hard!, The Manifesto) What vexes me is that if
they read the manifesto they clearly must have not read it for content. Clearly
the beginning of section II Proletariat and Communists proclaims:
"In what relation do the Communists stand to the proletarians as a whole? The
Communists do not form a separate party opposed to the other working-class
parties. They have no interests separate and apart from those of the
proletariat as a whole. They do not set up any sectarian principles of their
own, by which to shape and mold the proletarian movement."
Time and time again the Marxist-Leninist make the same mistakes in which Lenin
himself made as far as organizationally. I think people like Sam Webb have
static notions of historical materialism that makes them forget that the
purpose is to analyze the "actual relations springing from an existing class
struggle, from a historical movement going on under our very eyes." ( Marx
Manifesto section II Proletariat and Communists Manifesto) His decision to
alter the party has no material implications. It merely shows his own
unwillingness to fight against the current system. Supporting the democrats has
no effect on the party. The democrats wont endorse the support of the party,
and the Democrats are just as repressive and capitalistic as the Republicans;
(with exception of a smile and advocacy of piecemeal social programs) which
means if anything the communist party risk a perpetuation of the status quo.
