if Kucinich or any Democratic congressman or former congressperson were to
break with the party, that's something we'd want to encourage. Certainly, it
would help many more people break from the party.
How we'd encourage will vary. Many of us are quite inerested in the
implications of a presidential campaign by Cynthia McKinney We'd probably not
regard a Kucinich break the same way, but there'd be nothing unprncipled in
doing so, depending on the circumstances.
Bonnie's again assumes that contributing positively to politics requires not
only purity in one's present positions (which it doesn't) but a purity in one's
political past.
