Re: [Marxism] Roger Burbach on Bolivia
I think it's important to add the URL for the Bolivia Rising Blog that Roger
writes for:
http://boliviarising.blogspot.com/
The sitution there, with physical attacks on the now MAS-only Constituent
Assembly is critical.
The potential for the country to fly appart (the goal of the Oligarchy and US
imperialism) is quite
real, with only the workers and peasant organizations defending the unity of
the Bolivian nation. This
has won over large sections of the military who also have a keen interest in
keeping the country in one piece.
The former "2/3 majority" vote is now going out the window, with a simple
majority now needed
to approve constitutional changes. There is a serious movement to move the CA
back to La Paz
where the most radicalized sections of the Bolivian people live, as Roger
points out. This is a
MAJOR BATTLE folks...perhaps bigger than what is going on in Venezuela
tomorrow...at least it is
as accute as the situation in Caracas.
