Steffie: "But they also say you have to download a Windows application to
listen to their streams. As I'm on an old Mac, I'm afraid I won't be able to
listen on Sunday.
"Does anyone know of other streams that will run on Mac applications like
RealPlayer?"
This is the URL for the stream:
e.pls>
If you put that into the URL or file name line of just about anything that
plays MP3's, it should work. It's not a windows-only format, I don't
believe. The original Shoutcast was made by Justin Frankel and the old
Winamp crew (pre-AOL buyout) and they didn't like to use Micro$oft
proprietary tech, nor any other proprietary tech.
I know iTunes supports shoutcast, the format being used for the streaming.
The media player recommended on the Radio Venezuela home page --VLC-- is
available for most OS's in current use, including Mac OS-X, but if you're on
Mac OS 9 or earlier, it won't work.
