fearlessly broke from the Democratic Party and denounced it for all the
right reasons."

Cynthia was denouncing the Democrats when she was in Congress and appearing
on their ballot line. I do not believe there's been some big radical change
in her views, only that she concluded that the efforts of the Democrat and
Republican establishments to prevent Black people in Georgia's 4th CD from
using one of their ballot lines to get some measure of political
representation were insurmountable at this time, as a result of the 2000
redistricting and demographic changes which have diluted the Black vote in
the District and empowered white Republican cross-over voters.

McKinney's REAL break with the Democrats came some time ago, over the issue
of US support to the Zionist entity occupying Palestine.
