GPTX had full ballot status up to 2002 when Rahul Mahajan ran as their
candidate for governor. They had a weak campaign and came fourth (only
garnered 0.70% of the vote). In order to get in the ballot, they have to
get "74,108 signatures of registered voters who **did not** vote in the
presidential primary of either party" and do the petition between March
5th, 2008 to May 12, 2008. The GPTX has their ballot registration
campaign (http://txgreens.org/drupal/node/94#comment_form), but I really
doubt they will get the ballot access. Maybe if they can get a candidate
to ignite the "fires in the heartland", but otherwise I am not too
optimistic.
