Well, bigotry is to do with prejudice, with holding an intolerant opinion 
even when challenged by facts. I am not intolerant of gays, and I don't 
think I am prejudiced (although I admit that anecdote is not data).

Right, some people saying it doesn't make it true, and if one asks enough 
people one is going to end up getting all sorts of answers. My point is that 
this observation that I make as an outsider is shared by some members of the 
community. FWIW.

So, should I understand that you disagree with my characterization of gay 
male culture? As you say, I am not particularly involved, and so my 
knowledge is quite limited. If you know any better what gay culture is like, 
I'd be interested in reading about it.
