Thanks, the article is a good intro for people who don't know about free
software. An interesting point, though, is that even in the best of cases,
free software under the GPL, in effect the work produced by individuals is
often exploited by for-profit companies, while they don't get any
compensation. While I agree that so-called intellectual property doesn't
make sense when copies can be produced at near-zero marginal cost, I don't
agree that the value created by people working on free software projects
should be exploited by the bourgeoisie (IBM, Oracle, HP). In a sense, this
seems to be a retrogression from capitalist production, in which at least
the worker gets part of the value he produces.
