SABRA - SHATILA ANNIVERSARY: LAUNCHING  TAKAFUL PROGRAM FOR LEBANON

In memory of all the victims of the  Sabra-Shatila Massacre between 15-18 
September, 1982, in Beirut, Lebanon,  Al-Awda, The Palestine Right to Return 
Coalition--Nebraska and The Palestinian  Refugee Support Network in North 
America 
(TAKAFUL) announce the launching of the  Lebanon track of the 
Takaful-Family-to-Family-Sponsorship Program. 

The  program's objective is to provide direct financial assistance to needy 
refugee  families in Lebanon's refugee camps on a monthly, quarterly, 
semi-annual or  annual basis in order to help them meet their basic needs. Our 
primary 
focus at  this initial stage is to assist those with serious and ongoing 
health problems.  

Our partner in Lebanon, who will be responsible for ensuring that  donations 
reach the needy families in Lebanon is Al-Khalsa Philanthropic  Association 
(KPA). Al-Khalsa Association is a registered,  non-profit,  non-political and 
charitable organization that derives  its name from  the village of Al-Khalsa  
in Palestine/Southern Lebanon. Al-Khalsa is  one of villages that are widely 
known as "The Seven Villages".  The  KPA, which was established in 1977, has 
been recognized by Lebanese Ministry of  Interior pursuant to decree No.96/AD 
(28/12/1997), and its status as a  not-for-profit entity has been consistently 
renewed.

All donations from  the U.S. are tax-deductible. Tax deduction receipts are 
processed by Al-Awda,  The Palestine Right to Return Coalition-New York, or New 
Jersey Solidarity. Both  are tax-exempt, non-profit organizations.
