Haines, thank you for that...it was...good, very good. Look, I don't think 
Joaquin meant the use of 
the term in the most scientific manner. I think he was using it informally, for 
a polemical reason, and, 
even though I also challenged it, I understand "the point" he was trying to 
make.

I think it would been better to have said something like "society is the US is 
plain stupid, wth a bunch 
of assholes running around thinking they are Rambo...". I would of agreed with 
him on that, although, as 
I tried to prove, we are NOT the worst by any means when it comes to guns and 
his description only fits a large minority of gun owners, at best.

I wanted to respond to something else, about the white fear of Blacks with 
guns, the Willie 
Horton syndrome, which wasn't aimed at me, and he stated as much, but aimed at 
the average White 
gun owner, perhaps. [I would be very interested to know what he thinks of Black 
and Latino gun 
owners and if they are part of the same pathology he t ried to explain] I think 
"much", but not all of 
what he stated is true about that. What Joaquin 
doesn't want to see, however, is that his position is as much derived from the 
*exact* same 
racist syndrome (not Jouquin, of course) that he accuses white gun *owners* of 
having. 
Liberal opposition...*often* stems from a deep-seated, basically latent racist 
viewpoint that gun 
control will result in fewer violent crimes *by Blacks* since liberals, by and 
large, associate violent 
gun assaults with Blacks. They just won't admit it, usually. I think it's 
important to look at this as well 
as the red-neck stereotype Jouquin was using about Amercans and guns.
