[Marxism] redbaiting

>Cut the redbaiting, please and

Walter accuses me of "redbaiting" in my discussion of
the
multiple, competing antiwar demonstrations this fall.
Por que?
I posted a serious query on a dilemma concerning the
American left wing and the response to the war. I
believe
this to be a proper subject for a discussion board of
Marxists.
There would not be a group called ANSWER without
the Workers World Party then and the Party of
Socialism and
Liberation now. How is that redbaiting? Without left
wing
leadership there would have been no antiwar movement
in
this country during the Vietnam War or now during this
miserable conflict. This certainly doesn't upset me
and I am not sure why
it would upset anyone else on this list. The larger
question still remains. If it is not ludicrous to have
competing national demonstrations I would like to hear
a reasoned argument.
My dilemma, and the reason I made that post, is over
the seemingly universal acceptance of the idea of a
United Front and the inability of that to happen now
when it is
needed the most in regards to ending the war.
Why is this so? I can already envision the end of this
war and
the collapse of the antiwar movement and that will be
a
tragedy as it was after the Vietnam War. It's not
really about
which demonstration to to this fall, it's about trying
to find
a better way to build a popular movement with the
potential to
stop this endless cycle of imperialist adventures. I
sincerely would
like to hear other opinions on this and if this is not
a proper
subject for this list then tell me why.
