[Marxism] antiwar movement

He's completely right about the lack of outcome of the US Social Forum,
not just around the war but also around Katrina despite the latter
having been a factor in who came and why. But that's primarily to the
misconceived liberal anarchistic ideology behind the US Social Forum
(a similar outcome with similar roots occurred soon after at the
SDS convention).
As for the alleged paralysis of USLAW et al.: see my article at:

... on the UFPJ National Assembly. I didn't see anyone I know
from this list (not that I know most of your faces) at the
Assembly. I hope, though, that where possible all list members
are plugging into the regional coalitions forming to build
the October 27th actions.
UFPJ has a long way to go in terms of broadening and democratizing
itself. And just because it beat back an attack at the last
Assembly from pro-cd/pro-DP forces doesn't mean it won't succumb
to them again (the closer 2008 gets the greater the danger
becomes).
But any self-described Marxist should be in there fighting
around this and fighting to make the October 27th demos as
big as the UFPJ leadership itself says it wants them to be.
