So what does one do in the case of Robert Trivers, a
noted sociobiologist *and* member of the Black Panther
Party and confidant of Huey P. Newton? Is Trivers
"within Marxism" in his capacity as a Black Panther
and "without Marxism" in his capacity as a scientist?

Or how about Alfred Russell Wallace, an
ultra-Darwinist concerning issues of biology, but also
a socialist and passionate advocate of womens right to
vote?

I haven't followed Sayan's intervention on this issue
one way or the other, as the idea for "genes" for
capitalism strikes me as quite silly, but it is also
quite silly to make ones attitude towards sociobiology
a litmus test for "within" or "without" Marxism.
