What about Mark McGwire?  A white player suspected of steroid use but who
never admitted to it nor were the accusations proven, yet he didn't get
inducted into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility like his
career numbers indicated could have happened because the voters were wary
of the steroid rumors.  Prejudice against the Irish?  *rolls eyes*
