[Marxism] Are we living in a "Simpsons-like" culture?

Has anyone seen the new Simpsons Movie? It has the usual great comedy one
would expect from the creators/writers of the TV series.
My question has to do with what is it trying to say (beside the usual
entertainment quotient) on a cultural/political level. As I was watching and
laughing - I had this uneasy feeling. Why is the president of the U.S.
(President Arnold Schwarzenegger) - a jovial funny character, and the EPA
are the nasty guys who quarantine and punish the fictional city of
Springfield? It reminded me of another big-budget Hollywood comedy (during
the reign of another great right-wing nut, Reagan) - 1984's Ghost Busters.
This movie too featured a nasty EPA inspector.
At a time when both the Canadian and U.S. governments are going at
break-neck speed to wreck the environment (for example see the Tar-Sands
project in Alberta), why are the Simpsons turning reality upside down?
What are the producers (and creative geniuses behind the Simpsons) saying
about the environment and the one government agency with the least
effectiveness and power (in reality) - is featured as the all-powerful
oppressive gestapo-like EPA in the movie?
I just don't get it.
Pance.
