[Marxism] The low point of the CNN-You Tube debate

Actually, antiwar sentiments spread through the ranks after GI's became
visible and open opponents of the war, including the Fort Jackson Eight.
There were mass meetings on the base to discuss the war spearheaded by
SWP members who had been drafted, like Joe Cole. If the meetings had
been called under the rubric of "GI's, it is time to come together to
confess our crimes", they would have attracted no support at all.

Reply:

But today there is no draft, is there? And actually antiwar sentiment spread
through the ranks as a direct result of the sheer number of bodybags that
were coming home married to an antiwar movement that grew in both size and
militancy as the war went on. This is in contradistinction to the antiwar
movement today, which has contracted as the war continues.

Perhaps you were unaware of this fact, given that you were never in the
movement, thus reminiscent of those spectators described by Che watching
gladiators fighting it out from the safety of the stands.

You:

Why don't you come up with a nom de guerre? John Wright was the nom de
guerre of a respected American Trotskyist. Might I suggest something
like Blazes Doodlebury?

Reply:

This the best you can do, mate? Try reading the articles. You might learn
something.
