On PBS, the NEWSHOUR has always been a commercial for "the experts."
WASHINGTON WEEK IN REVIEW probes more deeply on questions of politics and
the constitutional crisis, though avoiding treading on the toes of the
powerful too heavily.
NOW is very decent source, but less for news than in-depth exposes and
old-fashioned muckraking.
BILL MOYERS JOURNAL is an idiosyncratic look at the news by someone with a
fairly decent approach, though he looks back to a golden age of liberal
Democracy that never really was. The hour show he spent on impeachment
issues a while back was superb.

PS: The Citadel, to add to my earlier comments, is the heart of white male
South Carolina militarism. If memory serves, it's not that far from John C.
Calhoun's grave and the birthplace of secession. Anyone who's not a white
male Southern militarist--or trying to pass as one--should never have
accepted a debate on that terrain.
