Ha-ha. Operaismo = "workerism".

However, since you mention it, Felix Klopotek, in his
essay "Linksradikalismus in der Neuen Musik: Cornelius
Cardew", collected in the volume How They Do It: Free
Jazz, Improvisation, und Niemandsmusik, mentions that
Stockhausen was something of an apolitical/mystical
reactionary, but that one of his most important
students, Cornelius Cardew, would go on to become
involved in the radical English free-improvisation
group AMM. AMM would later split in the 1970s into an
anarchist fraction around saxophonist Lou Gare and
drummer Eddie Prevost, and a Maoist fraction around
Cardew and guitarrist Keith Rowe.

John Tilbury, currently AMM pianist, is also on the
radical left.
