That was my impression as well.  I am not familiar
with Zizek's work, but if his cavalier approach to
Marx and value is any indication, he is a sloppy
thinker.

The article forwarded previously quotes Zizek on the
need to "update" Marx's theory of value.  Since value
is merely a convenient shorthand for abstract socially
necessary labour time, it's not clear to me what
exactly he thinks needs updating.  We still live in a
society of private commodity production.  As long as
the distribution of social labour is mediated by
commodity exchange, Marx's theory retains its
validity.
