Re: [Marxism] Iran crackdown

I was most interested by this comment:

"More than 50 of the country's leading
economists wrote an open letter to Ahmadinejad this week warning that he
is ignoring basic economics and endangering the country's future."

No doubt "50 of the country's leading economists" in Venezuela (the ones who
work for Western banks) would say the same thing about that country as well.
I'd love to see an elaboration on that statement as to how exactly they
thought Iran is "ignoring basic economics."

Elsewhere in the Western assault on Iran front, we find this: "Iran
divestment bill passes
[California] Assembly sends the Senate a measure with mandates for CalPERS
and CalSTRS." (http://www.sacbee.com/103/story/207411.html)

The interesting comment in this article was this one:

"Despite opposition from state pension board leaders, the Assembly
overwhelming passed an Iran divestment measure by El Cajon Republican Joel
Anderson. With an initial 68-0 vote, Assembly Bill 221 heads to the state
Senate.

"This is a country looking to pick a war. We can't have our retirement
(funds) there," Anderson said. "This was a big hurdle we crossed today."

IRAN is a "country looking to pick a war"? Hard to find a better example of
blaming the victim that that, I'd say.
