It was worse than that. For decades Cockburn's columns in Nation, and
more recently Counterpunch, have been an important source of information
and analysis for leftists. But if he can screw up this badly, indulge in
this much willed ignorance, then he has in effect destroyed a left
resource (himself), since it now is/will be harder to trust without a
good deal of crosschecking anything he has to say.
