Re: [Marxism] Cuba, India stand together in fight against U.S. imperialism

India's capitalist businesses invest in Cuba to make money,
as all capitalist everywhere invest to make money. That's
what make them capitalists. Cuba is, and remains blockaded.
Cuba is the only country on the planet where a foreign and
hostile power occupies part of the national territory and
is publicly committed to the overthrow of Cuba's government. o
Using such measures as the Helms-Burton and Torricelli laws,
the Cuban Adjustment Act, and the decisions by Bush in the
report of the Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba, the
U.S. has been trying to starve the Cuban people into them
overthrowing the government and bringing back a regime to
satisfy Washington's goals.
Indian investment, like Canadian, Russian, Chinese and all
the other investments have an objectively anti-imperialist
EFFECT, since they go counter to the plans of Washington
to starve Cuba into submission. No matter what the ideas
and thoughts of the foreign investors. Readers who doubt
this should ask why the Cuban government is going all over
the map of the world to protest the Hilton-Sheraton hotels
who've kicked out Cuban guests meeting with U.S. business
executives who want to invest in Cuba? They know that such
investments would make it harder for Washington to attack
Cuba militarily, or to try to starve Cuba into submission.
What I'm now about to say isn't aimed at Marla, who I know
does understand this, but it seems to me that some people
think Cuba is better off without that foreign investment.
In effect, if not stated so explicitly, they think that
Cuba is better off poor, but pure. Naturally, such ideas
are expressed from the comfort of our homes and offices
here in the advanced capitalist countries, but there's a
certain peculiar logic to that kind of thinking. Certainly
the Cubans and the people writing here on Marxmail would,
no doubt, prefer that there be socialist revolutions all
over the earth. Now. And particularly here in these United
States of America. NOW. However, in the absence of there
being a revolution in the United States of America, Cuba
shouldn't be excluded from the world. That's my point.
(Cuba and India have excellent relations. Check out the website of
the Indian embassy in Havana. Wouldn't it be nice if the U.S. had
a website like this one, instead of the one it actually does???

And Walter's refernce to Indian capital incvestment in Cuba- well
this has nothing to do with fight against American imperialism, but
points to the fact that Indian Capitalism is slowly transforming into
multi-national capitalism, whatever time it takes for it to mature to
