I would add that not only does the right-wing oppose abortion as a
"pretext for imposing social control over women", but they see it
also as a form of racist population control. Given that most women
who have abortions in the USA tend to be "caucasian", the right fears
the impending minority status of "white people", which is also one of
the unspoken reasons behind their fear of the "brown tide" from
Mexico. So of course they want "their" women to reproduce, and not
abort.
