All this reminds me of Samir Amin's idea that the forces at stake in
the East were at least of three kinds: "socialist", "anti-socialist",
and "national", the "anti-socialist" ones struggling against both the
others. If by "national" we understand also the structure of the
State, then we can see what is it that Putin has in the bag, from the
point of view of Wall Street.
