[Marxism] Antisemitism

"A very large percentage of this "community" is opposed to the
war, last I heard (I admit I was kind of surprised)."

Indeed, the majority of Jews in the US are opposed to the are by
70%, higher than most groups, actually, depending on how one
wants to slice and dice sub-groups in US society.

The AIPAC has a problem, given their bosses in Israel (and I do
consider this group to be 100% political extension of the Zionist
state) support US imperialism 100% staying IN Iraq. The upset by
the seeming split in the US ruling class on how to deal with Iraq
and, possible backing down from Iran, their original target. This
latter, BTW, always represented a real split between the
mini-Imperialist state of Israel and the US: The US saw Iraq as
the key to the gulf, and Iran as a secondary, and contained,
issue. For the Zionists it was always the otherway around.

AIPAC's job as assigned to it is to get Jews to support Bush. A
huge task, impossible, since most American Jews, while supportive
of Israel, have no problem disregarding it's "instructions" over
the war in Iraq. Most Jews here are respond to issues as anyone
else would, maybe keeping a footnote there to reference vis-a-vis
when strident anti-Israeli remarks are made by politicians. I
doubt in heavily Jewish areas of the US that a candidate would
garner many Jewish votes taking on Zionism. But anything under
that, it's fair game, and, this is what AIPAC is so upset about
and why they are reverting to the old "support Israel or you are
an anti-Semite" BS.

This is actually a new game they are playing. AIPAC and other
so-called "Jewish lobby" groups never went after criticis (an I
used this word very broadly) of Israel who were American-Jews.
They clearly made a big tactical turn to do this and it doesn't
seem to be working.

The whole problem with "Jewish conspiracy" theories is that as
an ethnic sub-group, Jews are pretty well atomized. Sure, their
are lots who got Temple, members of Jewish faternal organizations,
but no one group can really speak for everyone or even a large
minority. Ergo most of the Lobbyists, like AIPAC represent almost
no one but, like an NGO, claim to be doing god's work for those
that can't speak for themselves and put themselves up as speaking
for those they claim to represent.
