Actually, the lawyer of the man arrested for dodging the fare, according
to what his lawyer told French IndyMedia, did pay his fare but the
automated gate wasn't working -- ça marche pas.
It is interesting how all the left press/campaigns -- PCF, LO, LCR, Bové
-- assumed that the machine worked. From my personal experience with
the Paris metro and RER -- the system he was using -- his story is
believable.

evade the control, which called the cops to help, and which then
provoked a general outbreak of hatred against the cops.
