RE: [Marxism] LESSONS IN CAPTURE, RELEASE OF BRITONS, by Jim Lobe
It could be that our fascination with whether Iran is gong to be attacked or
not distracts attention away from the truth that Iran is currently politically,
economically and militarily under siege. The one bright spot from the Iranian
point of view is that everything the US does in Iraq strengthens the Shia
allies of Iran.
Mark might be right, about the status of support for attacking Iran. This may
well be bluff & bluster, but there is a real danger methinks that Iran could
become like Afghanistan a "good war", while Iraq remains the "bad" war.
The role of the Israeli lobby in promoting an attack on Iran and in demonising
the Iranian regime, could be crucial here.
regards
Gary
