These comments talk about the English version a little bit.  Another
thing to note is the publisher of the English version, Ivan R. Dee
publishing, which also publishes stuff like
Tenured Radicals, Enemies of the State: Personal Stories from the
Gulag, Neoconservatism: The Autobiography of an Idea by Irving
Kristol, and so forth.  So I am a little skeptical about this edited
translation, and certainly wouldn't take any quotes from it as
authoritative.  At one point in this translation, Chuev asks Molotov
what happened to "All Power to the Soviets", and Molotov supposedly
replied it is best for power to rest in one pair of hands.  You get a
lot of that kind of stuff here and it makes me a little skeptical of
the translation etc.  Nonetheless, I read this book and found it quite
good.
