[Marxism] Re: The Black Scholar Editorial on Zimbabwe
The problem with Walter's method is that while it's true one should be
suspicious of what ever the US State Dept. likes to throw out there, the idea
that it is what US imperialism is saying that should be the stone around which
we educated ourselves or organize around is silly and totally self defeating.
If we did this as a method we never would of criticized what the USSR was
doing, ever, what the CPUSA was doing for that matter. Walter seems to have the
'why can't we all get along' perspective that has little to do with Marxism.
What the US states, what Imperialism states, is only ONE factor in how we
analyze a situation. We need to start equally from the point of view of the
class struggle in those countries, something Walter abhors doing since it makes
for an uncomfortable analysis where he might actually have to stand with the
workers and peasants against some gov't that has received some hand slapping
from the US.
You might look at Argentina over the last few days where the "pro-Cuba,
pro-Venezuela" Kirshner gov't seemingly set it's goons and thugs on striking
teachers and others in the provinces of that country.
