And perhaps Louis has forgetten that he just asserted this: ``In order
to defeat Mugabe, it will be necessary to form a broad socialist
movement that doesn't impose a litmus test on "state capitalism". It is
okay to insist on brand loyalty in a place like Great Britain, where
sectarianism is part of the insular soul of the nation, but utterly
foolish in a place like Zimbabwe where there is a mass, militant working
class movement desperate to transcend an opportunist MDC and a thuggish
"leftist" government. ''
On what FACTS of the ISOZ's practice and politics is this assertion
based? What SPECIFIC ``party-building schemas'' of the ISOZ are you
referring to and what EVIDENCE have you that it does not work in their
situation?
The reason you have been going in circles with the ``stubborn comrades''
around the world who continue to insist that socialists must
democratically organise themselves to engage in political activity,
including the DSP, is that you base your accusations of ``Zinovievism''
etc. on abstract assertions of how you think things are (no doubt based
on your negative experiences of the US SWP, which incidently have also
shaped how the DSP organises today) rather than attempting to find out
the actual practice and politics and results of the comrades involved.

I imagine that Norm has difficulties understanding my sympathy for the
overall political stance of the ISO-Z, but my refusal to accept their
party-building schemas. I have gone around in circles with him and the
DSP comrades over the same exact issues for about 10 years now. Thank
goodness I have patience for stubborn comrades.
