My favorite literary critic, John Dolan, has a good review of this book here:

It seems to me that any writer or historian who wants a quick career boost in America or Britain can always prosper by upping the atrocity count of Stalin or Mao, or otherwise pissing on the history of socialism. "What? Only 20 million dead during Soviet collectivization? I'll see your 20 million and raise it 40 million for the Cultural Revolution!"

Scientists estimate that sometime in the 22nd century, the earth will collapse into a black hole from the mass of all the bodies of the victims of 20th century revolutions, as counted by current and future historians and hack writers.
