[Marxism] Miami Rally Planned To Protest Right Wing Cuban attacks

ALL OUT FOR FREEDOM OF SPEECH

On Friday, January 19, a handful of people peacefully raised a banner
in disagreementwith a demonstration in support of Luis Posada  
Carriles, accused ofbombing a civilian airliner in 1976, killing 73  
people. Before a full minute had passed,the pro-Posada demonstrators,  
numbering roughly 100, had surged across the street and begun to  
physically assault these nonviolent counter-protesters. The police  
were nowhere to be seen.

In December, on Venezualen Election Day, a similar attack occured  
against Pro Chavez demonstrators outside of the Venezualen election  
booths at the Orange Bowl in Miami. There also the Miami Police failed  
to take any action against the violent assailents.

When anti-democratic elements are permitted to violate the law in such  
a brazen fashion, it is a green light for other attacks on civil  
liberties in our community. This cannot continue. We will not go back  
to the days where right wing Cuban terrorism stifled free speech and  
debate in Miami.
